Please, Please, Please Let These Be Fictitious

Apparently, @GSElevator — a Twitter thread of things overheard in Goldman Sachs elevators — is all the rage. The comments made by the elevator trolls in these exchanges are horrendous: misogynistic, racist, and every other “-ist” you could think of. I desperately want these to be made-up because, if they’re real, it so explains a lot of what’s wrong with parts of our society. The cynic in me, however, thinks ‘it’s Goldman…of course they’re real’.

At least I hope it’s cynicism and not realism. Although, even if these comments are fictitious, I have a hunch they’re based (unfortunately) on Wall Street reality. Man, we are so screwed.

About deb

Wandering and wondering - taking it all in -- and increasingly shaking my head. Who are we and how did we get to this here? And, what, where and how next? Putting what I see and think out there in pictures and always looking for other ways, hence, this blog. This blog, like me, is a work in process and still doesn't quite know what it wants to be when it grows up.
