Kids say the darndest things, don’t they? I was reminded the other day of what a I heard some kid say to his mom on the train one morning, and, even a couple of years later, it still makes me laugh. It was nearing some major Christian holiday…Easter or Christmas. I forget which. In response to something his mother had said (in quiet, motherly tones, of course), the woman’s son blurted out, “aw, Jesus … do we have to go to church again?” That left his mom stunned and speechless (and the rest of us trying not to laugh out loud).
Of course, kids have corned the market on saying surprising and/or outlandish things. How about the slightly wacky colleague asking, “WHERE did you that get that document I sent you”? Or, perhaps my favorite, from a young woman talking incessantly on her cell phone while at JCrew, “no! I can’t text with you now. I’m shopping! …”
Okay, so with the last one, yeah, I laughed out loud. Alone. In JCrew.
