North Carolina, Think TWICE Before You Vote

You could be voting to legalize discrimination against your family, your neighbors and your friends…and maybe someday yourself. Be careful what you wish for.  Be even more careful what you vote for.

Get the word out about N. Carolina’s defense of marriage amendment! This is one of the broadest constitutional amendments and would set a very dangerous precedence — not just for gay and lesbian couples, but for any couple in the state in a domestic partnership. This is a huge step backward and would allow the religious right to put discrimination back into law and to criminalize beliefs and behaviors that differ from their own.

Former President Bill Clinton has come out against the amendment, as have others. Read up on this amendment. See what’s really at stake. See whom it really will harm. Think about what it could mean for you or someone you know, even if not right now. An amendment will change everything.

About deb

Wandering and wondering - taking it all in -- and increasingly shaking my head. Who are we and how did we get to this here? And, what, where and how next? Putting what I see and think out there in pictures and always looking for other ways, hence, this blog. This blog, like me, is a work in process and still doesn't quite know what it wants to be when it grows up.
