Another Tragedy, Another Reminder

In light of the horrific (despicable, sad, horrifying, tragic, depressing…there really are no adequate adjectives) shooting in Connecticut, it seems like a good time to re-post one of the clearest, sanest arguments for gun control that I have ever read.

Sadly, nothing can undo shootings like the one in Connecticut, or past shooting in Colorado, California and New York (and, unfortunately, others), but there is always the hope that one of these tragedies will finally not be for nothing, and will finally lead to meaningful change in our gun laws.

It’s time to ensure that none of the children, parents, friends, neighbors or parents lost in these tragedies has died in vain. My heart breaks for everyone in the families and communities affected. Please let it be time to make sure that something good comes from something so, so awful.

My previous post with a reblog form the sane and calm Michael Tabman.

About deb

Wandering and wondering - taking it all in -- and increasingly shaking my head. Who are we and how did we get to this here? And, what, where and how next? Putting what I see and think out there in pictures and always looking for other ways, hence, this blog. This blog, like me, is a work in process and still doesn't quite know what it wants to be when it grows up.
