Geez, on the heels of finding a reporting of the inspiring Philadelphia boy who’s committed his allowance to an animal rescue organization for the past few years, a friend reposted the following on Facebook.: Outrage in Delaware, from the Daily Kos.
What on earth is wrong with us? It’s bad enough that we live in a state of fear about the playgrounds our children play in, but to add a layer of racism and hatred? To let the extreme right, the Tea Partiers, and whoever else shares such values dictate such division among families in a community, and especially among the children? Awful…horrible…I am at a loss for adequate adjectives, to be frank. Have we not learned from the mass killings of the past few years — including one only a few weeks past — that, with a few exceptions, people who are out to harm others do not discriminate? Separate signs with very distinct messages, the second of which (on the yellow signs) speaks more about those who erected the signs than of real safety concerns, will not improve safety. Creating, condoning or encouraging divisions will not protect any of us.
I hope the good people of this Delaware town see what has been put out there in their names and are outraged, as I am, and encourage the powers that be to remove the racist signage.
Pass it on.
